Spring Grizzly Bear Hunts - Hunting grizzly bears in the spring is exciting and productive. In the areas that we hunt the limit is currently 2 bears per year.
Springtime is an excellent time of year when hunting pressure is low, foilage is at a minimum making spotting easier, and hides are premium. This time of year bears have just come out of the den and they are aggressively hunting for food after a long winter.
Our spring hunts are conducted in high country mostly above tree line where it is vast and beautiful. We generally pick spots to hunt right in the middle of caribou calving grounds which happens to be where all the predators are too. We usually witness 100's of caribou calves being dropped and we often observe preditors such as wolves, wolverines, and bears all trying to capitalize on an easy meal.
