Rocky Mountain Goat Hunts

Alaska Goat Hunting - All of our goat hunts occurr on Kodiak Island where there are prolific goat populations. Being in shape will help you be sucessfull and enjoy your hunt.

As far as goat hunts go, ours are among the least challenging. The terrain in the areas we hunt tends to be much more managable for the hunter than many other goat hunting areas in the state. Even so, a hunter should still expect to hike and climb an average of 2000 to 3000 verticle feet over the time of your hunt. You won't need climbing gear but you will need to use hands and feet at the same time on rare occassion.

Generally we land at sea level where we load up our packs with approximately 45 pounds of gear and begin our climb into goat country. Typically, we set up camp at around the 2000 foot level where we stage our hunt. It would not be uncommon to take a billy over 9" which is a very realistc and and achievable goal in our area.

Sitka Blacktail Deer on Kodiak Island - When you goat hunt or bear hunt with us on Kodiak Island you get the opportuntiny to also harvest Sitka Blacktails as a second, third or even fourth trophy.
